Installing Ant Build tool

Easy steps to install Ant build tool on Windows system:

Skip this Step 1 if you already installed JDK
Install JDK by following the steps shown in the article: Installing Java on Windows or Installing Java on Linux -
Download ANT for Windows (ZIP file) from here: http://ant.apache.org/bindownload.cgi

Unzip anywhere on your hard drive (Lets assume you downloaded apache-ant-1.8.2 and unzipped into C:\ant folder)

Set the following two System variables by going to ‘My Computer-> properties -> Advanced -> Environment Variables‘

variable name: ANT_HOME
variable value: C:\ant (Change this path to where you unzipped ANT in step 3) -
variable name: Path (if already exists append the variable value by clicking on ‘Edit’ button)
variable value: %ANT_HOME%\bin; -
Check whether ANT is installed properly or not.

Go to command prompt, type: ant -version

Hit enter
-
Result should be something like: Apache Ant(TM) version 1.8.2 compiled on December 20 2010
